Beginning in late 2026, this multi-phase project will upgrade key infrastructure across Los Cerritos and Roseville Heights to improve stormwater drainage, water reliability, and roadway conditions.

Work will occur in three phases:
- Stormwater drainage system upgrades: Upgrading aging drainage systems to improve water flow and reduce street flooding during heavy rainfall.
- Water pipeline upgrades: Sections of aging water lines will be replaced to improve water flow and pressure, replace aging infrastructure, and increase the long-term reliability of the city’s water system.
- Road resurfacing: Helps protect streets and reduces the need for costly repairs in the future.

- Drainage improvements - late 2026 and reach completion in early 2027. Work hours will be 7 a.m.–5 p.m., Monday–Friday.
- Utility water work – anticipated June 2027 through November 2027
- Road resurfacing - 2028.

Residents and businesses near the project area will receive advance notice of upcoming work, including project timelines, temporary lane or street closures, detours, parking impacts, and planned water service interruptions whenever possible. Staff will also be available to answer questions and help address concerns.
Drainage improvements and resurfacing work will be funded by the Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation fund.
Water pipeline improvements are funded through the water utility rates paid by existing customers as part of the City's ongoing investment in maintaining and replacing critical water infrastructure. These planned improvements help improve system reliability and reduce the likelihood of future water main failures.
