April 2026

Median work will temporarily close the southbound lane on Vernon Street between the Atlantic and Vernon Street intersection and Lincoln Street starting the week of April 13. This closure will last approximately three to four weeks.

Southbound traffic will follow a detour along Atlantic and Lincoln streets. No changes to northbound traffic at this time.

Expect to see traffic lanes shift through the Vernon and Atlantic Street S-curve and construction-related traffic in the area.

Work hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Lane closures, minor detours and periodic night work may occur. Residents and businesses will be notified in advance.

Closure of the northbound lane on Folsom Road between Linda and Walnut Street is intermittent, occurring only during work hours with a detour in place.

The sidewalk along Folsom Road is temporarily closed until completion of ramp work. Please consider an alternate route along Lincoln Street and Linda Drive.

Please travel with care through the work area. Allow extra travel time.

Look for digital message signs for up-to-date schedule information.

Schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen conditions.

The City of Roseville is making improvements to the Atlantic and Vernon Street  ‘S-curve’ area to calm traffic, lower speeds, and reduce collisions.

Improvements

  • Raised landscaped medians
  • Enhanced pedestrian crosswalks with lighting
  • Green bike lanes to improve visibility
  • Flashing beacons to alert motorists to lower speed limit zone
  • Lane reductions to slow vehicle speeds
  • To reduce collisions, left-hand turning restrictions onto Atlantic Street will be added at smaller intersections: Almond St., Brittain St., Folsom Rd., Walnut St., and Jefferson St.

The estimated construction cost is $1 million. Roseville has received approximately $487,000 in Highway Safety Improvement Program Grant Funds. Other funding sources are local Transportation Development Act funding and Highway Users Tax fees.

Work is underway and will continue through spring 2026.

During the planning phase, a community open house was held at the Civic Center, 5 - 6:30 p.m. on June 29, 2022. Attendees came to learn about the planned improvements, ask questions, and talk with the project team.
