READ. IMAGINE. EXPLORE. is Roseville Public Library's annual Summer Reading Challenge for all ages. This program is designed to spark a love of reading, offer engaging and enriching summer activities, and inspire lifelong learners and library enthusiasts. Our goal is to boost participation across all age groups—children, teens, and adults—while encouraging regular library visits and making reading a fun part of everyone’s summer.
Research shows that children can lose up to two months of reading progress over the summer break—a setback that adds up year after year. To help prevent this learning loss, we're excited to offer our Summer Reading Program! Our program helps build early literacy and independent reading skills while celebrating the joy of reading for pleasure. We also encourage adults to join in by participating in the reading challenge and setting a powerful example. Together, families can build a lifelong love of reading—one book at a time.
INSTRUCTIONS
Pick up a reading log at any Roseville Public Library location. Log your reading from June 1 - August 1. Mark one square for every 30 minutes you read. Earn a Brag Tag at each green prize square on the log path. Completed logs will be entered into a prize drawing of your choice.
First Log: Complete 10 hours of reading to earn four Brag Tags, a special 2026 SRC finisher Brag Tag and a Sacramento River Cats two-ticket voucher OR a Friends of the Library book sale voucher and Sacramento River Cats two-ticket voucher.
Additional Logs: Keep reading to earn more prizes! Each completed 10-hour reading log earns one additional prize drawing entry and up to 5 additional Brag Tags.
Brag tag and Sacramento River Cat vouchers are while supplies last. Prize drawing winners will be notified during the week of August 10.
