The concept is simple, the rewards are priceless!

Start a reading routine with your baby, toddler or preschooler to help them develop school readiness skills. We'll help you stay on track by setting milestones and incentives on your child's path to reading 1000 books before kindergarten.

Simply color in or check off the reading log each time you read a book with your child. When all the stars have been filled in, return your completed logs to the library and collect fun rewards!
Checkmate! Whether you’re a grandmaster or a beginner, all skill levels and ages are welcome. Bring your own board or use one of ours.

Players under the age of 13 must be accompanied by parent/guardian.

May's Create! at the Library is Symmetrical Butterfly Wings! Choose one of the cardstock butterfly templates. There are 9 options. With crayons or colored pencils, color the shapes on each side of the butterfly’s wing in an identical pattern, to match the opposite side.

Early Literacy Tip:
Symmetry teaches children to notice patterns. Pattern recognition is a foundational skill for reading because letters and words follow predictable visual patterns.
Bring your bikes, trikes and scooters for a fun-filled event! Enjoy a bike-themed Storytime, followed by crafts, an obstacle course, and a ride-though bike wash in partnership with the Alternative Transportation Department.

Participants must bring their own bike and helmet to the event.
