Our book sales are at the Downtown Library from 10:00am-3:00pm. Come browse thousands of gently used books at unbeatable prices! From bestsellers and classics to children’s books and cookbooks, there’s something for every reader. 

Prices: Unless otherwise marked, children's books are $1, hardbacks are $3, and paperbacks are $2.

Checkmate! Whether you’re a grandmaster or a beginner, all skill levels and ages are welcome. Bring your own board or use one of ours. 

Players under the age of 13 must be accompanied by parent/guardian.

Library Discovery Day is back! Come explore all that the libraries have to offer with stations highlighting education resources, virtual collections, programs and new library materials. Featuring activities with special guests from local community organizations. Come see why we’re so much more than books. Parent/guardian participation required.

Get a jumpstart on your fall decorating! Play rounds of BINGO for the chance to win a pumpkin to decorate your home. Bingo supplies are provided. 

5:30-6:30pm on Friday, September 4 at the Maidu Community Center. All ages are welcome and no registration is required.

Honor the legacy of September 11 through service to others. Join the Teen Advisory Board to learn about the events of 9/11 and its lasting impact while supporting a hygiene drive benefiting those affected. Donations of hygiene items are encouraged.

2:00-3:00pm on Saturday, September 5 at the Riley Library Meeting Rooms 1 & 2. All ages are welcome. 

Don your most dapper outfit for a picnic celebrating beloved children's author, Arnold Lobel. Monocles, gloves and clever caps welcome at this Frog and Toad themed picnic featuring tea, biscuits, crafts and read aloud. Bring your own blanket.
