Hydroelectric Rate Adjustment this Fiscal Year
The hydroelectric adjustment is based on hydroelectric generation forecasts received from the Northern California Power Agency and the Bureau of Reclamation, and the expected market cost of power to replace reduced hydroelectric generation.
The adjustment helps offset the cost of purchasing replacement energy due to lower-than-average hydroelectric generation.
The FY 2027 hydroelectric adjustment charge for electric bills from July 2026 through June 2027 will be $0.00163/kWh, or $1.27 per month for the average Roseville residence.
As of May 1, the FY 2027 forecast is 80% of normal generation, which is why a hydroelectric adjustment charge will appear on customer bills.
This fiscal year’s adjustment reflects a 104% increase from FY2026.
