Whole house fans are an efficient way to reduce your air conditioning usage and maintain a comfortable temperature at home. A whole house fan draws cool outside air in from your open windows and vents the hot inside air out through your attic.

Take advantage of our residential whole house fan rebate to improve comfort, make your home more energy efficient and help reduce your utility bills.

Roseville residents can receive a $600 rebate for installing a whole house fan. See program requirements below for more information.

• Save energy: By allowing your whole house fan to operate all night and "pre-cool" your home, you can delay using your air conditioner until later in the day, which will help you conserve energy.
• Save money: Whole house fans are much less expensive to run than air conditioners, and they cost less to purchase as well.
• Comfort: Open the windows in the cool evening and switch on your system for a breeze that can feel like a 10 degree reduction in your home while it simultaneously rids your attic of the "heat blanket" effect.

Program requirements:

• Limit two whole house fans per installation address, multi-zoned fans may be approved on case by case basis.
• 2000 CFM minimum
• Must be installed permanently to home’s framing and the home must have central air conditioning.
• Contact City of Roseville’s Building Department (916-774-5332) for permit requirements.
• Applications must be postmarked no later than 90 days from system installation date.
• This program is for retrofit only. Funds cannot be used for new construction. Valid only for the installation of entire fan.
• All energy efficient equipment must be installed at a single-family residence receiving electricity from Roseville Electric Utility and must be purchased new at retail price. Products that have been resold, rebuilt, rented, leased, exchanged, won as a prize or have had new parts installed into existing products are not eligible for rebate.

• Roseville Electric utility account number
• Paid in full invoice including contractor/retailer information and model number
• Manufacturer’s specification sheet listing efficiency rating and CFM
• Completed and signed application
