Rapid Link transit service to connect Lincoln, Roseville, and light rail
Sep 24, 2026
A new express transit service will make it easier to travel between Lincoln, Roseville, and the regional light rail system when Rapid Link launches Thursday, Oct. 1.
Designed for more convenient regional travel, Rapid Link provides a streamlined route with limited stops along the Highway 65 and Interstate 80 corridors. The service offers commuters, students, seniors, and other travelers a new option for getting around the area while spending less time navigating traffic.
Rapid Link serves key destinations throughout the corridors, including the City of Lincoln, Westfield Galleria at Roseville, Sutter Roseville Medical Center, Kaiser Roseville Medical Center, and the Watt/I-80 light rail station. The route connects residential, shopping, health care, and transit centers, improving transportation access across the region.
For a limited time, ride Rapid Link at no cost before fares go into effect. So, it’s the perfect opportunity to try transit.
Passengers can plan their trip, track buses in real-time, and receive transit alerts through the TripShot mobile app.
“Reliable transportation is essential to keeping our region connected. Rapid Link gives riders a convenient way to travel by providing a comfortable and dependable transit option,” said Rich Frost, transit operations supervisor.
The express routes also support regional connections, aligning with long‑term transportation goals to strengthen public transit options across Placer and Sacramento counties.
“Rapid Link expands local and regional transportation for commuters, students, shoppers, and visitors. As our communities grow, services like this provide more options for people to travel throughout the region,” adds Mike Costa, principal transportation planner for the Placer County Transportation Planning Agency.
Rapid Link is served by all-electric, zero-emission buses.
The Rapid Link service is part of the Placer-Sacramento Gateway Plan and operated by Roseville Transit in collaboration with the Placer County Transportation Planning Agency, Placer County Transit, Yuba-Sutter Transit, Sacramento Regional Transit, and the City of Lincoln.
