Create, connect & inspire with Cultural Arts
Jun 15, 2026
Art has a unique way of bringing people together, transforming public spaces and creating lasting memories. This summer and fall, Cultural Arts is offering opportunities for residents of all ages to explore their creativity, learn new skills and help shape community art projects that will be enjoyed for years to come.
Watch a mural come to life
The newest public art project at the Downtown Library begins with an invitation to the community.
On June 20 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., residents are invited to participate in Bookmark the Mural, a free community art activity at the Downtown Library. Participants can color commemorative bookmarks featuring the design of the new downtown mural while watching a muralist bring the large-scale artwork to life on the library stairs.
The event offers a unique behind-the-scenes look at the mural-making process while giving participants a keepsake to take home. All ages are welcome.
Create handmade jewelry
Looking for a creative outlet? Clay & Create: Polymer Earring Basics on June 27 offers a fun introduction to polymer clay art.
This beginner-friendly, hands-on workshop teaches participants how to shape, bake and assemble custom earrings using polymer clay. No experience is necessary, and all supplies are provided. Attendees will leave with their own finished, wearable creations.

A community mural for everyone
This summer's largest collaborative art experience arrives with United By Art: Community Canvas on August 22.

Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult while painting.
